Cockrell Butterfly Center Weekly Summer Events
Small Talk – Tuesdays at 1:00 p.m.
Our experts will entertain and educate with all types of insects and arachnids.
Wing It – Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m.
Release of hundreds of new butterflies into the rainforest.
Friday Feeding Frenzy – Fridays at 9:30 a.m., 10:00 a.m.. 10:30 a.m. & 11:30 a.m.
See science in action as snakes, spiders and centipedes enjoy a meal right in front of you.
*These events are free with the purchase of a Cockrell Butterfly Center ticket.


Behind-the-Scenes Tours 

Tuesday, June 9
6:00 p.m.

Cockrell Butterfly Center
Join Butterfly Center staff for a special behind-the-scenes tour of the Cockrell Butterfly Center, insect zoo, containment room, and rooftop greenhouses. 

Hamman Hall of Texas Coastal Ecology 
Discover the flora and fauna of the Texas Coast in the new Hamman Hall of Texas Coastal Ecology with HMNS master docents. This after-hours tour will also include a walk through the adjacent Farish Hall of Texas Wildlife.


Mixers & Elixirs 

Saturday, June 13

7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
Mixers & Elixirs is back and it’s better than ever! Pop on over to our place to mingle, clink your cocktail glass, and break out your best dance moves to Groupo Ka-Che. Doors open at 7 p.m. for the live band, dancing, cash bars, and the city’s best food trucks. The perfect party, where the science club meets the social set, happens each month from June through August. Hitting this scene is a sure sign of intelligence!
