Have some fun with the family this Friday at HMNS Sugar Land’s Animal Secrets exhibit!

Forget The Secret Life of the American Teenager; how about the secret lives of forest animals?

HMNS Sugar Land’s new exhibit, Animal Secrets, answers questions about animal life from the common to the curious. Where do chipmunks sleep? How do mother bats find their babies in the dark? Answers to these questions and others are answered as children explore the secret lives of forest creatures.

You can explore Animal Secrets with the whole family this Friday at Friday Family Fun Night. Designed especially for children ages 3 to 8, kids can discover nature from an animal’s point of view as they play in natural habitats — from meadows to caves.

In addition to access to the Animal Secrets exhibit, Friday Family Fun Night features a host of extra family-friendly activities, including live animals from local wildlife centers and the Cockrell Butterfly Center‘s popular outreach program, Wildlife on Wheels. Kiddos will get the opportunity to get up-close with baby alligators, screech owls, katydids, grasshoppers, butterflies and more (all supervised, of course).

Arts and crafts opportunities will be set up throughout the exhibit at craft stations. Costumes are also encouraged! Dress your little ones up as their favorite animals for our Kids Gone Wild costume contest.  Light snacks and a limited cash bar for the adults will be provided. Don’t miss it!
