We started this blog because we wonder. We wonder a lot. We wonder how bees fly, what dark matter looks like, why pregnant women don’t tip over, and even where we may have come from. Among many, many other things.
We think you wonder, too. And we want to make science, and all its fascinating facets, universally, easily, abundantly accessible to everyone who wonders about our world. We believe the best way to do that is by having a conversation, where everyone is invited to share: their knowledge, their insights, their questions and their know-how.
Conversations like this happen every day in our exhibit halls, with our docents, between visitors, and among students and teachers. Blogs have emerged as a powerful new medium that can extend these conversations to include vast new groups that have collective access to infinite knowledge.
We can’t wait to hear from you.
We’ll post our experiences with the Museum world – everything from sneak peeks into cool new exhibits being developed to what it’s like to raise tarantulas – as well as what we think about what’s going on in the world of science. Most importantly, we want to know what you think, what you know, and what you wonder about.
So welcome! Please come on in – and comment often.
