Parents and Kids Love Virtual Summer Camp

July 21, 2020

The reviews are in, and our virtual summer camp program is a hit for parents and kids alike! This summer we took to cyberspace and gave our beloved camp program a virtual makeover. Now, you don’t have to go farther than your laptop charger to have a summer science adventure.

Led by our science experts, virtual summer camps feature an hour of hands-on, educational engagement every day for one week. When your camper logs in, it’s your opportunity to log off, because our camp instructors empower kids to problem solve and work independently.

Don’t take our word for it. Here’s what real parents are saying about their experiences.

“We loved it!!!! She could manage her class on her own, but usually wanted to show me what cool things they were doing. The instructor was absolutely amazing! So engaging and interactive. Class sizes were perfect. Looking forward to our next session. Thank you HMNS education department for coming up with and executing a great course!!!!” -Parent of an 8-9-year-old

“Great experience! Thank you for making this available in a weird year for summer camps, even though it was just an hour it gave me a break to be able to focus on my working from home while I knew my son was engaged and learning.” -Parent of a 6-7-year-old

“Our instructor was amazing, engaging, and took time to interact with each child. I loved how she was able to help students troubleshoot problems that arose so the kids could solve the issue on their own without mom and dad (a great skill for kids to learn). We will definitely do this again if given the opportunity! Kudos!” -Parent of a 6-7-year-old

“The price is excellent. We got an engaging hour a day and she enjoyed getting to do something fun in these quarantine times.” -Parent of a 6-7-year-old

With 25 unique topics from Crime Scene Investigators to Mummies & Mysteries, there’s something for every explorer. We’ve extended our program through September 4 to accommodate this year’s later school start date.

When you register your camper, within 8 days, you’ll receive their camp care package in the mail (or local campers can elect to pickup at the museum). Because of this, online sales for virtual summer camps close 8 days prior to the first day of the camp. Sign up early!

Storytelling is a passion, particularly the way that words can be used to educate and inspire, so Jessi is excited to be able to contribute to the blog and help tell the stories of HMNS.
