Space Geeks! Wanna meet Neil DeGrasse Tyson? [Yes. You do.]

March 7, 2011

Ever wanted to step up to that desk in Central Park and get your most mind-boggling question about the universe answered?

Neil DeGrasse Tyson, Astrophysicist for Hayden Planetarium at the American Museum of Natural History, space evangelist, Star Tweeter, host of NOVAScienceNOW and all-around celestial pattern advocate is speaking April 13 in a free lecture at the University of Houston.

And you have a chance to meet him!

Not just “I was in the same room with Dr. Tyson.”  UH is hosting an essay contest – and the top 10 entrants score an invite to an exclusive VIP reception with Dr. Tyson!

In 500 words or less, describe what space means to you.  It could be an essay, a poem, word art, recipes, song lyrics, a computer program…any and every format can be submitted, as long as it’s under 500 words.

Submissions will be accepted on through March 18; then, the voting takes place from March 21 – April 1. The ten essays with the most votes win! More details.
