PC users: You need to have Windows Media Player to view our webcam video feed. (Download it here.) Firefox users: download this plugin. Mac users: we’re working on a solution for you; we’ll post again when we get it figured out. In the meantime, there is a converter plugin for Mac users available that you can try for free; get it here. If anyone tries it, let us know how it works in the comments!
UPDATE: There was an issue with the webcam feed on the night of Friday, July 9 due to an unintended change to our firewall. This issue is now fixed – thank you to everyone who let us know of the problem! If you experience any problems with the webcam going forward, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or send a message to @hmns on Twitter.
Mac users: Unfortunately, due to the unexpected nature of this plant’s flowering, we had to go with the equipment we had on hand – which is, also very unfortunately, several years old and limited to Windows drivers. We have tested several options to convert the feed, but none have worked with our equipment so far. We are trying to find a workaround, but in the meantime, KRPC Ch. 2 also has a webcam with a live feed of the Corpse Flower, and you can access it here.
UPDATE 2: We are getting reports that the webcam does not function in Google Chrome. We recommend using Internet Explorer of Firefox (with the plugin linked above) for the best performance.
